Here are my two favourite poems of my Fantasy Book : The Land of Shadows.
The first one is called Tirien of the Light and its written in a first person perspective and the second one is called : The Queen of Light which is written in a third person perspective. They are both of the same people. Enjoy.
Tirien of the Light.
Where art thee my dearest maid,
Through all the lands I search for thee,
Through mountains tall and rivers wide,
I come in search for thee my love.
On all the lands, on all the shores,
I look upon the flowering plains,
Within my heart I long for thee,
To sit beside and sing with thee.
In all the time I search for thee,
Beside the fire I sit and think,
Of if I'll ever see the light of stars,
That in your eyes lay glistening.
I long to sing and dance by thee,
Till the end of time to be with thee,
Till moon fails and sun is one,
Till light fades and all is gone.
Now here is the second.
The Queen of Light.
In the light of years he searched for her,
In the light of stars he looked for her,
In the light of forests he heard her sing,
And longed to sit and sing with thee.
He knew she was a maid of old,
Yet strived to find her springing voice,
He longed for time to pass him by,
To see if he would be with her.
And lost he wondered throughout the lands,
And every year he heard her sing,
Yet never could he see her sight,
He always screamed with all his might.
The day once came when alas they met,
He saw her beauty and was stunned,
As mortal being under a spell,
That never ending stories tell.
He sat by her and sang with her,
Their voices one throughout the land,
The flowers sprang the trees all sang,
The land rejoiced with newfound love.
Though through the shadow came a knife,
And took the life of the Queen of light,
And in his arms she laid that night,
With tears in both those lifeless eyes.
As Olan saw within her eyes,
The shadow grow and all light fade,
He vowed to fight with all his might,
Against the shadow till end of days.
