Do you think the lack of intelligence in people makes them resort to violence or is it another factor such as pier pressure? I know this is a strange question but i would like to hear your thoughts.

i personally think its a lack of parenting. these days parents just sit their kids infront of a tv and let that teach them the difference between right and wrong. if parents would take the time to teach their children those lessons, they wouldnt have to worry. but their sitting there and blaming the media/video games/movies when the kid does something wrong instead of themselves and the fact that they dont punish their kids properley for doing something wrong.

Very right, though...pere pressure is another main factor. Both are very close to the cause. But also. People tend to get upset when they are forgotten or rejected and that is also another thing that can make them resort to violence to get what they want. Parents need to be understanding. People need to respect each other. And everyone needs to realise they are not the only ones who need attention. Many people feel they need all the attention and when they don't get it they resort to violence. Many resort to violence cause their way is not happening. Parents do need to teach better values to their children and make them see that violence is never the answer. When you've been molested for 8 years of your life. Violence is a big thing that lies before you as an answer. But it is not the answer. And for me. I have to live with the fact that my childhood was spent as a sex object for a person who was disgusting, and that no matter what I say or do, and whatever type of violence I resort to, will not change the fact that it happened and it will certainly not give me back my childhood.

Other triggers of violence are things like repressed emotion, stress or just influences from tv or people or the things that they read in newspapers or magazines.
The roots of violence can start with bad parenting but then there are those who even though they may have been disciplined, may never see it as being a good thing that they'll benefit from. Some grow up to revolt against their parents and worse. Almost anything can lead to violence, it depends really on how a person perceives what they experience.

True but a large proportion of people woth god parenting resort to violence

I read a very interesting article in National Geographic that stated that it was the absence of play in children that caused them to become violent crinimals later in life.

It's not lack of intelligence, it is the lack of maturity. You can't blame violence on anything but immmaturity. It's like with video games, everybody blames video games for peoples', mostly kids', actions. It's not the fualt of anything except a lack of maturity.

well said i agree. It seem people can't face facts and so blame videogames instead of a lackof maturiy.
