"The Death of Baraka"
The nomad was pleased with himself. I have made Master Shinnok proud, he thought. The nomad known as Baraka had just finished fighting in the Mortal Kombat tournament and had defeated the Earthrealm's only hope for survival, Liu Kang. As he walked down the earthen hallway towards the the throne room, he whispered to himself, "I wonder what my reward will be? Maybe my people will have the chance to live in cities now as opposed to being shuned like common beggars and lepers." Baraka reached the dorrway and pushed it open to reveal a site he didn't expect. Quan Chi. "What are you doing here, sorcerer?" he wondered to himself. "Master Quan Chi, what a pleasent surprise. Where is Lord Shinnok?" Quan Chi stretched and raised himself off the throne. "He is gone. I destroyed that retched weakling and took his power as my own. What do desire from me Baraka?" As he asked the question, Quan Chi sat back down upon the throne and reached into his vest pulling out Shinnok's Amulet. "What about my reward, sorcerer? Lord Shinnok promised me my heart's desire! Are you going to pay me off or am I going to have to take it!!!" Baraka extended his blades and advanced toward the sorcerer. "Ahhh, Baraka. You disappoint me. I expected more trust from a servant as loyal as you. Of course you shall have your reward. You shall recieve exactly what you deserve!!" Quan Chi leaped off the throne and raised the amulet toward Baraka, firing a beam toward the surprised nomad. "What treachery is this?!? For that sorcerer, you will die!!!" Baraka leaped and dodged the beam fired from the amulet and raked his blades together forming a massive spark and flung the spark toward the evil sorcerer with uncanny speed. "Blast you Baraka! Why won't you die like a good servant!!" Baraka leaped toward the sorcerer and launched a massive offensive, knocking him into the throne. "You have made a very deadly mistake, Sorcerer. You dare to threaten the King of the Nomads, Baraka!?!?! You will pay my reward with your life!!!" Baraka leaped toward Quan Chi and drove his blades through the evil sorcerer. "Now sorcerer, I will take your power as my reward!!" Baraka withdrew his blades and stepped back, admiring his work when he heard a voice behind him. "You gloat to early, nomad!" Baraka turned around to see the sorcerer, Quan Chi, standing behid him uninjured and smiling. " You have underestimated the power of my amulet and now you shall die!!!" Baraka growled with rage and leapt toward the sorcerer. Quan Chi raised the amulet and uttered an incantation. Baraka froze in mid leap and cried out in rage and futility. "Damn you sorcerer! Fight me! Fight me as a warrior!!" A green glow flowing from the amulet surrounded the nomad king. "Baraka. There is no need to fight you when I have already won!" The glow intensified until there was a hum that could be heard throughout the entire castle. "Goodbye servant." Quan Chi smiled. As he turned to walk away Quan Chi uttered another incantation and with an earshattering explosion, the nomad king was gone. "Foolish servant. He did not know his place. Now I believe he does. HAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
